The Italian National Olympic Committee reports that the Fiorentina forward Adrian Mutu tested positive for using doping. First tests performed following a Serie A game with Bari on Jan. 10 found substances of Sibutramine, an orally administered agent known for the treatment of obesity, as an appetite suppressant. Serious concerns are being expressed about its safety and it has been suspended from use in the UK and EU.
