A lifelong football fan - disillusioned from the world cup farce, a gentle amble in the Premiership for Man U playing poorly all season so far, stumbling their way to the title and full of cheats like Rooney (and others - diving, simulating, provoking). The English game is rotten to the core, the 'fans' who bought season tickets after the world cup are just plain stupid, supporting an organisation driven by money and greed. Switching off for good, I no longer wish to waste my time with this corrupted rubbish.

Is this a sick joke? Defoe gets sent off for an aerial challenge where he perhaps leads with his elbow, Rooney elbows someone in the face nowhere near the ball and gets a nice hug from Clattenburg. Rooney's a thug, Ferguson's a moaning cheat and this is Clattenburg's third instance of Man Utd bias. I wonder how much they're paying him.

WOW how can anyone say this was an accident or self defense McCarthy was walking with his back to Rooney, rooney jumped at McCarthy and left the ground. if noting else McCarthy should have the ugly pink shrek arrested for assualt.

Ridiculous, He should be banned, anyother player would have but obviously its United so no they have 12th men everywhere. It would be a shame if he has an impact against chelsea or liverpool this week as he should be banned.

I seriously can't believe how blatant that was. There wasn't even any subtlety to it - it was premeditated. Interesting to see if the media/sites pick up on this - but somehow I severely doubt it. Normally Sky TV would be jumping all over this but they haven't even shown the incident on TV - this is the first I've seen it and I watch Sky TV alot.

Unbelievable! I had read the reports and what Ferguson had to say but needed to see for myself.

Rooney clearly raised his arm to clump McCarthy in the head. Clattenburg obviously saw it otherwise he wouldn't have awarded a free kick to Wigan and spoken to Rooney. However, that said, how could he not produce a card for foul play (yellow) or even serious foul play (red)?

Unbelievable!
